I began my legal career as a prosecutor in the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. During my years in the DA’s office, I handled thousands of cases – ranging from misdemeanors cases, juvenile cases (including juvenile certification hearings) and a wide variety of felony cases (including capital murder). I graduated from the Texas Career Prosecutor School. In 1982, I began my private practice. My practice focuses on criminal charges in state and federal courts (trials and appeals). In 1985, I became Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. In that same year, I became licensed in the State of New York. I am admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. I have served as past president of the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association. I was joined in my practice by my son and daughter, both of whom served in the Harris County District Attorney’s Office before joing the firm. My son recently left the firm when he became a judge. The Hill Law Firm continues to concentrate on the defense of all criminal charges brought against its clients.
