About Saira Shah

Saira Shah is a lawyer, advisor, volunteer and an activist who deeply cares about her community and the folks within it.  Currently, she is a partner at Cervin & Shah, P.C., a general practice law firm that focuses on health care, corporate, family and immigration law. Previously, she served as Vice President of Legal at a non-profit health maintenance organization committed to providing affordable access to health care. In her prior roles, she oversaw the expansion of hospital systems and participated in the formation of joint ventures, developing policies and writing memorandums on complex legal issues.  Now as a law partner, she is focused on helping individuals and business owners resolve conflicts, start businesses, flourish in a collaborative setting. Saira is also is co-owner and operator of a ranch in Needville, Texas, Changa Manga Ranch, that hosts events for children from all walks of life and helps design therapies for children with special needs.  In this role, she juggles many hats and follows her passion to help all those who cross her path from humans to canines.  Saira is a graduate of University of Cincinnati College of Law and a proud Cincinnatian and even prouder Houstonian.  The saying goes, I wasn’t born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could.  She remains close to her Midwestern roots and carries those values with her both in her personal and professional life.  As a survivor of domestic abuse, she is committed to helping women overcome obstacles, forge career paths and live independent productive lives.  As such, volunteering is a central part of her life and she works passionately on Changa Manga Ranch and with local organizations to improve the lives of women, children and families.  In addition, she serves on many boards and committees, including as board member of the Chinese Community Center and as Vice-Chair of the Managed Care Practice Group for the American Health Lawyers Association.Saira and her husband are the blessed foster parents of three children.  In addition, their family includes, llamas, donkeys, horses, dogs, cats, and chickens.
